CLASS ROOMS
|
Classrooms are fully ventilated aptly constructed, equipped with adequate furniture
and electric facilities. Institute provides the facility of OHP and portable LCD
projector which are used by teachers and students.

LABS
|
ART AND CRAFT ROOM
Art and Craft room is very attractive and well decorated. It is well furnished with
different Poster colors, Rangoli Colors, Sketches, Crayons, Brushes, Drawing sheets
and Drawing Boards.

COMPUTER LAB & ICT RESOURCE CENTRE
Computer Lab of the Institute is well equipped with 30 updated Computers along with
WI-FI Internet facility

LANGUAGE LAB
To upgrade and update the Language proficiency of perspective teachers in speaking
English and other Language, Doon Valley Institute of Education, Karnal has established
a Language Laboratory. The Language Laboratory has Audio System, Speaker, Headphones
and a Computer with seating capacity of 20 students.

MATHEMATICS LAB
Mathematical Lab is designed to develop mathematical skills among Students to acquire
knowledge with confidence. Lab is equipped with Wooden Geometrical Box, Abacus,
Set of different shapes, figures with 3D Models and Charts.

PSYCHOLOGY LAB
Psychology Lab is designed to seat 50 Students and has been equipped at a time with
necessary tools and 32 Psychological tests for proper functioning and training of
pupil teachers.

SCIENCE LABORATORY
Science Lab is well designed with all equipments as Models, Charts, Chemicals, Reagents
and various apparatus required for performing Science Experiments.

SOCIAL SCIENCE LAB
Social science Lab is well equipped with 3D Models, Charts, Graphs, Globes and different
types of Maps.

SPORTS
|
Institution has a sports ground for outdoor sports such as Volley Ball, Basket Ball,
Badminton and Athletic events. Indoor games facilities of Chess, Carom Board and
Table Tennis are also available.

HOSTEL
|
Hostel facilities are avaiable for boys and girls, looked after by the wardens and
other support staff. Wi-Fi internet connected in the hostel. Various recreational
facilities like TV, indoor games, magazines, newspapers etc. are made available
to the hostelers. Care is taken to provide home like atmosphere and efforts are
made to make the environment conductive to studies.

About the library
|
Welcome to the Library of Doon Valley Institute of Education. Our library has knowledge
based rich collection of reading materials related to Education. Apart from this,
we have books on general knowledge, UGC-NET, CTET, Novel, fiction (English and Hindi)
and others.
It is our constant endeavor to deliver the best of current knowledge and information.
For this, we subscribe to a number of Hindi and English dailies and a number of
magazines. Journals related to Education form a valuable part of our collection.
It serves as a portal from where the readers can access vast amount of information.
The library staff tries to provide the best services to its readers. The library
uses Open Access System to facilitate the readers. Print and Non Print Journals
are also provide in Library.

Library Timings

The library remains open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. We
offer its services around the year by keeping its doors open to the readers.

Library Rules |
1.The readers shall maintain perfect order and silence in the library.
2.Making noise, spiting, smoking and to visit the library in intoxicated condition
is strictly prohibited in the library.
3.A reader will be responsible for any damage caused to the library property or
reading material. The member has to replace the damage material/property and also
has to pay the penalty imposed in such cases.
4.Student/members will vacate their seats ten minutes before the close of library.
5.The Librarian reserve the right to suspend/cancel the membership of any member
found Misbehaving with the library staff or for any other in decent behavior.
6.The Librarian can recall any book from any member at any time.
7.No book shall be issued to loan, which Librarian feels is not in a condition to
be safely handled by the borrower.
8.In case any book become over due for more than one month no further books will
be issued unless such book is returned.
9.The members should return library books on or before the due date failing which
overdue charges of first week Rs.2/- per document per day, second week Rs.3/- per
& after one month Rs.5/- & onwards will be charged from the students.
10.The library will not be responsible for member’s personal belonging/property
lost in the library.
11. Loss of Books: Members shall have to replace the books lost by them or
will have to pay double the price of the book. If a book so lost belongs to a set
and is not available separately the members shall have to replace the whole set
or pay double the price of the set.
12. Care of Books: The Library books are for the benefit of not only the present
but also for the future members of the Library. They should, therefore, be handled
with every care and consideration. Damaging and defacing of books is highly objectionable
and may lead to cancellation of membership privileges and replacement of damaged
book by a new one. :
13.Each student is eligible for issue of two books on Library Cards for 14 Days
only. However, those who are member of Book Bank will be issued one book per subject
for the full Semester
14.If any student is caught while removing the book from the library in an unauthorized
manner, a minimum fine of Rs.500/- would be recovered in addition to disciplinary
action
15.Reference Books/ Journals/ Magazines/ CD will not be issued to the users. They
may consult such documents in the library itself only. If reference book is taken
outside the library knowingly or unknowingly, a minimum fine of Rs.500/- will be
charged besides disciplinary action
16.The members are required to switch off the mobiles while entering the library.
17.The library rules may be altered or amended or new rules may be added to the
existing one from time to time without any notice to the members and these will
be binding upon the members.
18.The entry in the library will be allowed with library card only.

A) Book Bank There is a provision of book bank in the college library. The books
are issued to the needy, deserving and meritorious students for the entire session.

(B) Reference Service We provide personalized reference service to our readers.
It is our whole hearted endeavor to provide right and timely information. The readers
can approach the staff, which provides the needful. Question Papers pertaining to
previous years' examinations are also stocked in the reference collection of the
Library. |
(C) Circulation Service The members can get the books issued and returned from the
library according to their category. There are well laid norms for issue and return.

The number of books that could be borrowed by a member from the library at a time
varies category wise. Generally the books are lent for a period of 14 days.

This enables them to get the required and non issuable reading material Xeroxed

The institute has a Medical room with full time qualified Doctor who is retired
Director from Health Services Haryana.

CAFETERIA
|
The spacious and vibrating cafetaria of Doon Valley is the right place to relax
and enjoy food and other eatables in a very hygienic and relaxed environment, for
the times when you look for a break from the monotony.

GYM
|
The Institute has an excellent gym house with all modern equipment for the students
& faculty. The Gym House also provides indoor game facilities like Table Tennis,
Carom Board etc. Separate time is allotted to male and female tudents in the Gym
House.

AUDITORIUM
|
The Institute has an excellent auditorium having a seating capacity of 600 students.
The auditorium has permanent infrastructure in terms of cushioned chairs, permanent
stage with a full-length screen, LCD projection system and PA system facilities.
Curricular and co-curricular activities are planned round the year for professional
development of students for which the auditorium of the institute serves as the
perfect venue.

The Institute has a well furnished Seminar Hall with the facilities of OHP, LCD
projector which are used by teacher educators as well as student teachers.
